The Australian is claiming that the current Sunday Life editor Kate Cox, who took over her current role in January, is tipped to be the new editor of Fairfax title The Sun-Herald, ahead of announcements due soon.

Fashion and beauty magazine Madison has seen its fashion office coordinator Rebecca Rac leaving to join Cleo as junior fashion editor. Ebanny Dwyer replaces her. The update can be found on Madison’s blog, and the Influencing database has been updated to reflect the changes.

Seven West Media appoints Rohan Lund
The chief executive of  Yahoo!7, Rohan Lund, has been appointed the new chief operating officer of Seven West Media, and will resume the role from September 1.

Dan Voelte, Seven West Media’s chief executive, said in a statement: “We are delighted that Rohan has accepted the challenge of this new role at Seven West Media. Rohan brings unique management experience across media and communications and a reputation for driving change. He has led the successful development of Yahoo!7 and he will now lead Seven West Media’s evolution as we drive operational efficiencies across the group and pursue new content and revenue channels for all our businesses.”

News Limited makes appointments for Victoria “superdesk”
The restructures at News Limited are continuing, with the announcement that various editors have been appointed across the new seven-day “superdesk” at News Victoria.

Ellen Whinnett has been appointed head of news, Matt Kitchin as head of sport, Cameron Tandy as head of vision, Tracey Linguey as head of lifestyle, Peter Taylor as head of business, Nathaniel Bane as head of digital and Kelvin Healey as network editor.

Five news editors were also appointed; Chris Tinkler, Liam Houlihan, Natalie Gregg, Fiona Welsh and Felicity Hetherington. All new appointments will report to Herald Sun editor Damon Johnson and Herald Sun weekend editor Jill Baker.

Mumbrella has pasted the press release with information about the roles.

The Australian is also reporting that 45 photographers have been made redundant.

The Australian makes “fewer than 20” redundancies
The Australian is reporting that it is offering voluntary redundancy to less than 20 of its staff because of worsening advertising conditions.

Editor-in-chief Chris Mitchell said: “We did not foresee any redundancies on The Australian but advertising conditions have worsened, and we will now be calling for voluntary redundancies from a small number of reporters, artists and sub-editors. In total this will be fewer than 20.”

Staff have until Friday to apply.
